Midnight Playlist
(Oh, Last.fm anyone?)
Lately I haven't been getting my daily dose of music. Either it's due to a continous stream of work, assignments, shoots, or the fact my Etymotic headphones aren't suited for sub zero temperatures (that's alright though, music becomes uncomfortable with wind chill). So I've been listening to a playlist before I go to bed. It's quite a happy peppy set so it keeps me awake for a while (Metal music is for the day currently)
1. Disaster Button by Snow Patrol
Accompanied by The Lightning Strike later on.
2. Best of You by Foo Fighters
3. Over and Out by Foo Fighters
The versions from Skin and Bones, a live acoustic performance. Incredibly powerful, those are the two best tracks off the album.
4. Life in Technicolor II by Coldplay
You know that tune is simply one of the most addictive feel good tunes.
5. The Lightning Strike by Snow Patrol
6. Warmer Climate by Snow Patrol
A track that has gone somewhat unnoticed, but happens to be a very unique work by Snow Patrol, one of their more original pieces.
7. Man in the Box by Alice in Chains
A song I recently got hooked onto. Mainly because of the vocals in the chorus.
8. Lovers in Japan by Coldplay
Requires no introduction.
9. Sadness
10. Return to Innocence
11. Indian Chanting
by Enigma
Enigma's best songs. Really a soother/uplifter.
12. Democracy in Kind by State Radio
13. Camilo by State Radio
Two progressively energetic songs to get some energy back into it.
14. Extreme Ways by Moby
You know why.
15. Devil by Stereophonics
16. Dakota by Stereophonics
Mainly to mix things up and they just happen to be two fantastic tracks that go very well together somehow.
17. The Air near my Fingers by The White Stripes
Seven Nation Army's more playful cousin.
18. Calvada's Chopper by State Radio
A fitting prelude to my finale,
19. Clocks by Coldplay
Because there's absolutely no other song like it.
It's a strange list, quite random, not very diverse or thought out, but it works.
This is music that in particular, has a lot of room to it, interesting soundstages, variety.
Might as well mention my gear of choice is Etymotic ER-4P with a Headroom Total Airhead amp. I pretty much swear by them.
Welcome to another week.
