The Wired Life
If you had a dream home, what would it be like? Here's mine.
My living space would focus more on gadgetry more than anything else. This would be made more special in a Manhattan penthouse overlooking Central Park but that isn't very likely so lets keep it somewhat realistic.
Right, lets get started. Basics first.

At around, $200 per light, these things are expensive, but is the most creative you can get with lighting a room. With a remote control, 16 million colors to choose from, and multiple lights networking with each other so they can be used from one remote, this is indeed - ultimate apartment lighting. Having a few of these around the house, you can change the mood of the entire apartment with a simple scroll.
Estimated cost : $1500

Just the start of a perfect audio/video experience. I don't need the extremely high-end models (up to $7,500 - where you're paying for more inputs and marginal quality increases). This one will do just fine. It has everything I'll ever need and more. Denon really is my weapon of choice for most things (I've used a lot of Denon equipment for several productions, unparalleled reliability and quality)
Cost : $849
---
I've had a few encounters with Dynaudio speakers and they're a brand I'd trust with my audio. Once you've heard these you can never go back.
Estimated cost? I have no idea really. I haven't listened to all that Dynaudio has to offer. Can't say. Lets assume a cool eight grand or so. Probably more.
---

Its only four grand. This image doesn't justify this thing's immensity. Gotta see it to believe it.
---

With raw power, HDMI output, a Blu-ray player, you just can't go wrong here. You can play games too.
Cost : Forget it, I'm not going to calculate the final cost anyways.

The Apple Stuff
Indeed this will be an Apple household.
There'll be the usual Apple TV, AirPort Extreme, Time Capsule(s) and things. Combined with a -

Sure it has a lame name. But this thing, man oh man. Through the ever-unavoidable wireless goodness you control all your digital media with this simple iPod-like remote. Streamed wirelessly from your computer straight to the Denon. And this thing does quality too, with some high-end digital output along with RCA. Crazy.

---
And,
a sleeping bag. Because with the amount I'll be spending on gadgetry, I'm not going to have much left over for that other stuff. Like mattresses, paint and those sort of things.
---
The list ends here actually (looks a little short because I didn't include much about the Apple stuff ; and pictures only for the pretty things)
Beyond high-end audio/video, there isn't much to it really. Computing is covered (and will be for quite a while) with my current MBP. Everything above is very friendly with it so no worries about that.
My dorm room is actually the perfect tech setup for its size. It has all the essentials, some nifty stuff, a great pair of speakers and all sorts of things that make my gadget life extremely integrated and straightforward here (another post on that later). Consider the above the next (self-funded, Mom) upgrade.
Of course, in addition to all this gadgetry above, I'd end up designing my own apartment (and if you know the way I design, you can probably imagine the kind of living space I'd create, can you?)
Other than this wishlist, there's also the Photography Equipment wishlist, Personal wishlist (like paragliding!).
What would your dream home be like (geek-wise)? Anything you could add to this?
